Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • A. Originality and Ethical Compliance
    ✔ The submission is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration by another journal.
    ✔ The manuscript complies with AJPE’s Publication Ethics Policy and the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
    ✔ All sources are properly cited, and the manuscript is free from plagiarism and self-plagiarism.
    ✔ Ethical approval and informed consent (if applicable) have been obtained and stated in the manuscript.
    ✔ Any conflicts of interest have been disclosed.
  • B. Manuscript Preparation and Formatting
    ✔ The submission file is in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or compatible format.
    ✔ The manuscript follows APA 7th edition style guidelines.
    ✔ The text is double-spaced, uses a 12-point font, and standard margins (1 inch / 2.54 cm).
    ✔ The manuscript length is 6,000–8,000 words (excluding references).
    ✔ All tables, figures, and illustrations are:
    • Clearly labeled
    • Properly cited in the text
    • Placed at appropriate points within the manuscript
    ✔ Where available, DOIs or URLs for references have been included.
  • C. Structure and Content

    ✔ The manuscript follows the required structure:
    • Title
    • Abstract (150–250 words)
    • Keywords (3–5)
    • Introduction
    • Review of Literature
    • Methodology
    • Results
    • Discussion
    • Conclusion and Implications

    ✔ The manuscript has been anonymized for double-blind review:
    • No author names in the main file
    • No identifying information in text, headers, or file properties
    ✔ A separate title page has been uploaded, including:
    • Author names
    • Affiliations
    • ORCID IDs (recommended)
    • Corresponding author details
  • E. Open Access, Copyright, and Licensing
    ✔ The author agrees to the AJPE Copyright Notice and understands that the article will be published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license.
    ✔ The author retains copyright but grants AJPE the right to publish and disseminate the work.
    ✔ Permissions have been obtained for any third-party copyrighted materials.
  • F. Generative AI (GenAI) Disclosure
    ✔ Any use of generative AI tools (e.g., for language editing or drafting assistance) has been properly disclosed in the manuscript.
    ✔ The author confirms full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of all content.
  • G. Submission Files
    ✔ The following files have been uploaded:

Author Guidelines

1. Overview

The Asian Journal on Perspectives in Education (AJPE) publishes original, high-quality research in education that contributes to theory, practice, and policy. The journal follows international publishing standards, including ethical guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and is positioning for inclusion in major indexing databases such as Scopus.

2. Types of Manuscripts

Submissions must:

  • Demonstrate global or transferable relevance
  • Engage with recent international literature
  • Provide clear implications for policy, practice, or research

4.1 General Format

  • Language: English

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

5. Citation and Referencing

  • Style: APA 7th Edition
  • Include DOIs where available
  • Ensure:
    • Accuracy
    • Consistency
    • Recent sources (last 5–10 years preferred)

6. Tables, Figures, and Data

  • Must be clearly labeled and cited in text
  • Provide editable formats where possible
  • Include source notes if adapted
  • Ensure compliance with ethical data reporting

7. Research Ethics and Integrity

AJPE adheres to COPE guidelines. Authors must ensure:

  • Originality of work
  • Proper citation and attribution
  • Ethical approval (if applicable)
  • Informed consent for human participants

8. Plagiarism Policy

  • All manuscripts are screened
  • Acceptable similarity index:
    • ≤20% overall
    • ≤5% per source

Violations may result in rejection or retraction.

9. Generative AI (GenAI) Policy

  • GenAI tools may be used only for support (e.g., language editing)
  • Must be disclosed in the manuscript
  • Cannot be listed as authors
  • Authors remain fully responsible for content accuracy

10. Authorship and Contributions

Authorship must reflect substantial contributions to:

  • Conceptualization
  • Data collection/analysis
  • Writing and revision

All authors must approve the final manuscript.

11. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any:

  • Financial interests
  • Institutional affiliations
  • Personal relationships

AJPE organizes its publications into clearly defined sections to ensure consistency, quality, and relevance of submitted manuscripts. Each section follows the journal’s double-blind peer review process and editorial standards.

  • Description: Empirical studies using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-method approaches
  • Focus: Original research with clear methodology, results, and implications
  • Review Process: Double-blind peer review (minimum of two reviewers)
  • Word Count: 6,000–8,000 words

  • Priority: Highly encouraged due to strong citation potential

Editorial Screening (All Sections)

All submissions undergo an initial evaluation for:

  • Alignment with AJPE scope
  • Originality and relevance
  • Compliance with formatting and ethical standards

Manuscripts not meeting these criteria may be desk-rejected prior to peer review.
