1987tik argitaratzen dugun Geronimo de Uztariz aldizkariak balio izan du historialari profesional ugariren ikerketen emaitza argitaragabeak zabaltzeko; eskarmentudunak zein hasiberriak, baina interes handikoak beti ere. Aldizkariko artikuluetako asko, hain zuzen ere, Geronimo de Uztariz Institutuaren jarduera akademikoen ondorio dira. Bertan, unibertsitate eta ikerketa-zentro nagusietako irakasleek parte hartzen dute sarri. Mota honetako edukiak, dosier monografikoen edo ikerketa espezializatuen bidez argitaratzen ohi dira, askotan Nafarroako Historia Garaikidean zentratuak, baina beste esparru espazial eta kronologiko batzuen presentzia handiarekin ere.

    • We invite articles on the theoretical challenges of integration across disciplines. These often involve bringing internal consistency to underlying assumptions of hitherto independent disciplinary knowledge.
    • We invite articles on applications of integrated assessment and evaluation of these in meeting participant, policy makers, and research needs.
    • We invite articles from the perspective of disciplinary experts who despair at the simplifications of their realm in integrated assessments. We would like to learn from them about vulnerabilities and errors inherent in such practices.

  • Holistic Education Review

The Holistic Education Review (HER) is the merging of three streams of academic publications on holistic education: The Holistic Educator Newsletter (HEN), The Holistic Education Review, and Encounter: Education for Meaning and Social Justice. While merging these streams together, HER is also the birth of a new publication: The Holistic Education Review journal.

Purpose of the Holistic Education Review:

The Holistic Education Review (HER) Journal publishes two online, open-access journal issues per year and conducts additional educational activities for the holistic education community to enhance and broaden the scholarship of holistic education. We envision a holistic educational movement dedicated to the wellbeing and uplifting of human spirit on behalf of all life.

    History

HER represents an integration of threads from two previous publications.

The first of these publications originated in 1988 when Ron Miller founded the original quarterly journal, Holistic Education Review and became the journal’s Editor. This journal was a repository for scholarly research in the emerging field of holistic education. After four years, Ron handed over editorial duties to Jeffrey Cane and publishing duties to Charles Jakiela. The HER changed its name to Encounter: Education for Meaning and Social Justice. Later, William Crain became Editor, and this journal folded in 2015.

The second of these publications, The Holistic Educator Newsletter, began in 1991 as part of the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development’s (ASCD) Wholistic Education Network. Jack Miller served as Editor from 1996 until 2011, when Susan Schiller and Gary Babiuk assumed the editorial roles. Throughout the history of HEN, the newsletter has been published twice a year, Spring and Fall.

In the summer of 2020, Susan and Gary asked Paul Freedman if he would assume the role of editor when they retired at the end of the year. Paul invited Laurel Tien and Renee Owen to join him as the new Editorial Team. Annie Rappeport has since joined the team as production editor, Emilie McGeary as associate production editor, and several student editors and interns from Southern Oregon University.

The current editorial team is pleased to have brought these two streams together and to have both publications’ founders Jack Miller and Ron Miller involved on our Advisory Board. The new Holistic Education Review provides both a place for peer-reviewed scholarship as well as a hub for community members’ networking needs.

The mission of the Holistic Education Review is to:

The mission of the Holistic Education Review is to enhance and broaden the scholarship of holistic education, lift up diverse and emerging voices of holistic education practice, and connect the holistic education community.
